Crazy Horse Executive Rollie Noem congratulates the 2008 motorcycle raffle winner,
James P. Sokolik
CRAZY HORSE MEMORIAL - James P. Sokolik from Santa Clarita, California is the
winner of the Crazy Horse Memorial 60th anniversary theme bike. Sokolik was in
Minnesota on his way to Ohio when he got word that he had won. He changed plans
and turned around and came to Crazy Horse to pick up his 2008 Harley-Davidson
Heritage Softail.
The bike had been on display at the memorial since Memorial Day. Sokolik’s
winning ticket was one of 7,748 sold and was drawn by Mrs. Ruth Ziolkowski,
President/CEO of the Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation. This is the third year the
Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation has sponsored a bike raffle fundraiser. The 2008
raffle grossed $138,180 with all proceeds going towards the Crazy Horse project.
Following the Sept. 6 drawing, memorial officials unveiled the bike for the
2009 drawing, a Harley-Davidson Street Glide that features a Korczak 100th
birthday theme. Tickets are one for $20 or three for $50 and may be purchased at
the Memorial or by calling (605) 673-4681. All proceeds go to the project. The
drawing will be September 6, 2009.
The winner of the Crazy
Horse Bronze Statue is Pat Bird from Denver, Colorado!
Thank you to everyone who
purchased raffles tickets for these prizes!
